Study trip to Oxford and London

From July 15 to July 20, 2018, a six-day excursion to Oxford with day trips to London and Stratford-upon-Avon is planned for a group of ten students. Scheduled activities include a discussion with etymologists at the Oxford English Dictionary of Oxford University Press; a University and City Tour of Oxford; an Oxford River Cruise; a visit to the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford; a theatre performance in Oxford (preferably an open-air performance by the Oxford Shakespeare Company); a day tour to Stratford-upon-Avon including a Town Walk Tour; a day tour to London, including a theatre performance in Shakespeare‘s Globe Theatre in London.Accommodation will be in Keble College, Oxford (twin bedrooms).

The trip will be most suitable for students with historical interests, especially for those planning to participate in the seminar „How Criseyde became Cressida: From Middle English Chaucerian romance to Early Modern English Shakespearean drama“ taught by Prof. Knappe and Prof. Houswitschka in the summer term 2018.

The fee for each student should not exceed EUR 350,-. Meals, apart from the breakfast, are not included.
