Email, Calendar, Contacts
The University of Bamberg’s IT Service operates the server systems required for sending and receiving emails and provides students and staff with email accounts. The email server systems for students and for staff are separate and run on different software platforms.
With Exchange for employees (research, teaching, and administration) and Office 365 for students, a wide range of groupware features—such as server-based calendars, to-do lists, address books, and more—are available in addition to the basic functions of “sending, receiving, and managing email messages.” As the term “groupware” implies, these features can be used collaboratively within a team, with multiple users having access to the same content.
