File Server for Students

5 GB of storage space on the file server for each user

Every student at the University of Bamberg has access by default to a shared folder on the IT Service file server with 5 GB of storage space under their personal username (baxxxxxx@uni-bamberg.de). This means that the shared folder name is the same as the student ID number.

When you log in at a workstation in the PC pools, a connection to your shared folder on the file server is established automatically.

If you want to access your shared folder from home, you must first establish a VPN connection.

Important Note!

Please note that network drives that were manually set up on your computer using the network path \\daten.uni-bamberg.de\… will no longer be available in the near future.

On computers managed centrally by the IT department, these are already available in File Explorer under task-based shares. On personal computers, they must be set up again following these instructions:
