Email for Students

All students at the University of Bamberg are provided with a personal email account. The email address follows the format vorname.nachname@stud.uni-bamberg.de or vorname1-vorname2.nachname@stud.uni-bamberg.de.

The University of Bamberg offers students the option to choose between two different email systems upon enrollment: either M365 or Mailex. You can switch between the systems at any time via the SelfService portal at iam.uni-bamberg.de.

Note: To log in to the student email system, you will need a username (BA number) and a password, which you will receive after enrollment.

The university departments send all information regarding your studies to your student email address. Be sure to check your email inbox regularly!

To check your email, you can use an email client (Microsoft Outlook, Mozilla Thunderbird, etc.) or a web browser (Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, etc.) of your choice. You can find the server addresses and connection details in the instructions provided by the respective email system.

  • Maximum email size: 112 MB
  • MAPI (Exchange), IMAP, POP3
  • Calendar, Address Book, Tasks
  • OneDrive with 5 TB of storage
  • Synchronization of all data across multiple devices
  • SharePoint for Group Work
  • On-premises installation of Office 365 on up to 5 PCs or Macs, 5 tablets, and 5 smartphones
