Information Sessions & Workshops on IT Services
The IT Service—in cooperation with other departments at the University of Bamberg—offers informational sessions and workshops on how to use IT services at the University of Bamberg.
Information Sessions and Workshops for Students
Information Sessions as Part of the First-Semester Orientation Days (EETs)
During the EETs, the IT Support team introduces newly enrolled students to the IT services offered by IT Services.
Among other things, you'll learn
- where the IT department and other university departments can help
- What are the differences between Office 365 and alternative email services?
- how to use services such as Wi-Fi, VPN, and CampusPrint
- What a personal network drive (file server) is and how it can be used when working in computer labs and at home
- What safety considerations should students keep in mind?
Workshops held as part of the EETs or in courses
We use the students' own devices to show them, in a hands-on way, how they can, for example,
- Set up eduroam (Wi-Fi) on your personal laptop, tablet, and smartphone
- Set up a VPN, log in, and log out
- can use campusprint
- Download and Install Office ProPlus
- Set up your own personal file server.
Training for Tutors
We train your tutors to use the University of Bamberg’s IT services so that they, in turn, can support other students.
