Franconian Trivia: The Bock Beer Tradition
- Bock Beer is a strong, dark lager traditionally brewed for special occasions, marking the change in seasons or celebrating holidays. It is a true local specialty, especially popular in the colder months.
- Tapping Ceremony: The traditional "Bock Beer Tapping" is a centuries-old ritual. The beer keg is ceremoniously opened with a specific wooden mallet, symbolizing the start of the beer season—a festive cultural experience you shouldn't miss!
- Bamberg's Unique Beer Culture: Bamberg is famous worldwide for its unique density of breweries (there are 9 within the city limits!) and its variety of specialty beers. The Ahörnla is an ideal, authentic setting to experience this proud tradition.
