"Let's Talk!"

Together with student representatives, the Institute for English and American Studies now offers its students the opportunity to exchange viewpoints with each other and guest experts on a wide variety of topics in an informal discussion group once per semester.

The discussion group met for a third time on Friday, November 24, 2023, 2-4 p.m. (sharp) in room MG1/02.06 (Markusbuilding 1). The room is accessible to wheelchairs and students with reduced mobility. Pre-registration was not necessary!

This semester's topic was the variety of examination forms in studies: from presentation to state examination.

We were happy to welcome three guests who shared their experiences and provided information:

  • Carmen Herrmann, StEx
  • Prof. Dr. Julia Schlüter
  • Jr.-Prof. Dr. Theresa Summer

Our experts addressed framework conditions and requirements for examinees and examiners, assessment criteria, tips on preparation, conventional and new forms of examinations and much more.

There were opportunities to ask questions and exchange ideas with the invited experts and fellow students. You can view the slides from the eventHER(3.9 MB)E.

Alternatively, for each Let's Talk event you can anonymously submit questions and comments in advance to the organizers, who will then pass them on to the experts during the discussion.  You can either use the mailbox for this specific purpose in the U9 building (on the ground floor, to the left of the entrance, marked in orange) or the following link: CryptoPad (entries are anonymous).

If you have any questions or comments, the organizers can be contacted via email:
