Digital Media at the University Library

Even with the university library closed you have unlimited access to our many E-Books (over 1 million), E-Journals and databases through the university network (also accessible via VPN or Shibboleth).

  • You may find hints on finding and using E-Books here.
  • You may find E-Journals in the Electronic Journals Library EZB.
  • Databases are listed in the Database Information System DBIS.
  • The search engine BASE and the Browser-Plugin Unpaywall will help you look for documents available in Open Access.
  • Many of the Specialised Information Services (“Fachinformationsdienste”) offer access to more digital media after signing up with them.

Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us via E-Mail or in the chat. We will continue our efforts to support you.

Library closed – open online

By order of the Bavarian State Ministry of Science and Arts the university library is closed to the public from the 14th March until the 19th April 2020. This applies to the reading rooms as well as the circulation of books. These measures were taken to protect our users as well as our staff and to slow the spread of the coronavirus.

All of our online-services are still available to you. Please use our E-Books, E-Journals and databases. The lending periods will automatically be renewed until after the closure. There will be no reminder fees charged during this time.

If you have any questions, you can contact the university library anytime via phone, E-Mail or in the chat. Our staff will gladly help you and will check individually, if there is any way for us to provide you with urgently required literature – usually in digital form.

We apologise for any inconveniences during these exceptional circumstances. For further information please see the webpages on the coronavirus by the Central University Administration.

Stay safe and take care!
