Research Data Management (RDM)

Research data management is an integral part of a research project. We present the essential aspects that need to be considered when dealing with research data.

Research data are among the central and indispensable resources that arise in the course of the research process. The professional handling of them is increasingly coming into focus, especially against the backdrop of advancing digitisation.
The event provides an overview of the aspects that need to be considered in research data management and presents support services at the University of Bamberg:

  • Basics of research data and research data management
  • Framework conditions (funding policy, FAIR principles, good scientific practice)
  • FDM support at the University of Bamberg
  • Data management plans
  • Storage and organisation
  • Documentation and metadata
  • Publication and archiving
  • Rights and licences

The event is aimed at members of the University of Bamberg who collect research data in their research project, doctoral project or other projects and would like to learn what needs to be taken into account in its management.
