My Future

Professional practice and career with humanities

The Faculty of Humanities is launching a new event series: "My Future." This series will feature practice-oriented workshops, courses, lectures, panel discussions with experts and alumni, virtual offerings, and more. These events are intended to provide students of the Humanities and Cultural Studies with orientation and practical insights into the diverse professional world, provide them with career perspectives, and demonstrate how the specific competencies and soft skills of these degree programs can be profitably applied in various professional fields.

On this page, you will find current information about events offered by the individual institutes of the Faculty of Humanities. If you know of or offer events that would fit into this series, please contact the Coordinator for Career Orientation of the Faculty of Humanities.

English and American Studies

Let's Talk!

Topic in the winter term 2025/26 was once again (and due to popular demand) the wide range of career opportunities after studying English.

The Institut welcomed experts from very different professional fields to their informal meeting, including some almuni who had studied English at the University of Bamberg:

  • Ann-Charlott Stegbauer, Senior PR-Beraterin
  • Hannah Brodel, Center for Advanced Teaching and Learning, Bamberg University
  • Nicole Reichel, Senior Manager, Public Relations
  • Dr. Theresa Heublein, Agile Coach

The guests introduced the audience to their respective professions and provided information on their individual experiences on the job market – in Germany and internationally. They also reflected on the influences and experiences from their respective studies (BA, MA and PhD) and gave tips for entering the job market after completing a degree in the humanities.

More Information about “Let's talk” can be found here.
