The programme is taught in German. For enrolment and successful studies, you need knowledge of German at least at level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Overview

The Bachelor programme in Middle Eastern Studies (Islamischer Orient) offers language training in Arabic, Persian and Turkish along other languages and an in-depth introduction to the cultures, literatures and history of Islamicate societies of the Middle East. The following disciplines are contributing to this programme: Arabic Studies, Iranian Studies, Islamic Art & Archaeology, Islamic Studies and Turcology.
