Inauguration Ceremony for the Center for Gender-Sensitive Research with Poster Competition and Science Slam

Gender-sensitive research concisely presented on 594x841 mm

As early as the conceptual phase of GENIAL-forschen+, researchers presented their gender-sensitive projects in a diverse poster exhibition. At the ZGF’s launch event on 18 July 2025, 13 poster presentations highlighted the importance of gender-sensitive research across various academic disciplines. The poster exhibition from the 2022/23 winter semester and the poster exhibition from the launch event are available online.

Spotlights on – clear the stage!

The Science Slam offered the chance to experience research in a totally new way. In a creative and entertaining manner, four speakers offered us fascinating insights into their research. Whether in the radio drama series *Die Drei ???*, in gender-sensitive medicine or in the field of female leadership – the Science Slams provided a platform for gender issues and highlighted the relevance of gender sensitivity in various fields of research.

In her contribution, Lana Vizjak examines the current state of female leadership and shows how deeply ingrained patterns of thinking – such as ‘think manager, think male’, the gender pay gap and the gender care gap – continue to shape leadership realities to this day.

Dr Carmen Henning took a humorous yet critical look at the obesity epidemic and how gender-specific perceptions, stigmatisation and a lack of care go hand in hand.

Martin Lehe told the story of Paul. A powerful talk on gender roles and seeking help.

Dr Maximilian Seitz examined the portrayal of women in the radio drama series ‘Die drei ???’. His science slam combined pop culture and empirical research, demonstrating that even in radio drama, the echoes of old role models still linger.
