Forrmal requirements

An application for admission is required for this master’s degree programme and is available online here.

Forrmal requirements:

  • A university degree or an equivalent qualification obtained in Germany or abroad with a standard programme duration of at least six semesters and comprising 180 ECTS points
  • Proof of study and examination components comprising at least 30 ECTS points in one of the following subjects: Art History, Archaeology, History, European Ethnology, Architecture, Interior Architecture, Civil Engineering, Landscape Architecture and Garden Design, Landscape Management, Historical Geography, Cultural Studies, Cultural Informatics, Restoration and Conservation, a subject from the field of natural sciences with a connection to restoration and conservation

Application process

The following documents are to be attached to your online application: 

  • a chronological CV

  • proof of a general or a relevant subject-specific university entrance qualification

  • higher education final degree certificate (if not yet available, an interim overview of marks or transcript)

  • an overview of earned credit or modules (if applicable, an interim version) with proof of course and examination credit comprising at least 30 ECTS points in one of the subjects stated above

We would also appreciate if you attached a short statement of motivation to your application and, if applicable, scans of relevant employment references, confirmation of completed work placements or internships, certificates from training programmes, awards, or proof of voluntary work that shows previous engagement in activities in the field of heritage conservation.

Application deadline

The application period is open until the deadline on 15 July. The Examining Board will review your application and notify you via the Office of the Registrar.

Admissions

Our Examining Board will check your application on the basis of the documents you submit and inform you of their decision via the University of Bamberg’s Academic Registrar’s Office..

Enrolment and start of programme

This programme begins in the winter semester. In the first few days of the semester, the module structure of the master’s degree programme is explained in detail in orientation events and the timetable and courses currently being offered are presented.
