Save, Backup and Archive your Data
Introduction
The university’s file server is a central storage space for your files which can be accessed from various devices and locations. If you wish to access a shared server, you must always enter the server address (server name or IP address) and enable name. Additionally, your user name (BA number) and password must be authenticated by the file server. The server will verify whether or not you are authorised to access shared data.
If you would like to access the file server from outside the university network, you will need a VPN connection(271.5 KB).
File Server for Teams and Projects
If it is necessary for multiple people to have access to shared, task or project-related data storage, the Computing Centre can set up an appropriate file with the required access authorisation.
The head of a specific department or institution must make arrangements for this task-related data storage. A registered institutional identification code is required for the creation of shared data storage space.
Authorisation for shared storage access is contingent upon the respective persons’ membership in a particular project or user group. Authorised persons within the relevant departments or institutions have the ability to manage and supervise the members of these user groups independently.
