Spanning Regions and Disciplines - Conferences of the European Joint Master's Programme in English and American Studies

Seventh Conference (2027)
The Seventh Student and Alumni Conference will be held in Venice at the Ca' Foscari University on May 3, 2027. The theme, “Changing Landscapes, Shifting Grounds” explores the constant movement in and across our contemporary world, especially in a city like Venice, exposed to climate change and always on the brink of collapse, yet which continues to resist adding new chapters to its centuries-long history. The technological disruptions and ecological crises of the world we inhabit demand evolving cultural paradigms for the future. In the fields of English and American Studies, these transformations compel us to rethink traditional boundaries. The landscapes we study—whether geographical, literary, linguistic, or political—are changing; the very grounds upon which our disciplines were built are transforming.
