Geophysical survey in Mauchenheim (RLP)

In cooperation with the Prehistoric Department of the Philipps University of Marburg

This year we are offering a geophysical field campaign in Mauchenheim, Rhineland-Palatinate, in cooperation with the Prehistoric Department of the Philipps University of Marburg. The sites to be investigated in Mauchenheim are four Roman villas that are known from aerial photography. The three-day field exercise aims to impart basic knowledge in the practical application of three geophysical measuring methods established in archaeology, geomagnetics, geoelectrics and ground penetrating radar (gpr). Furthermore, this course allows students to participate in a small inter-university project.
