Economics taster lecture on ‘Public goods and climate change: an experiment’ on 26 November 2025
Public goods are characterised by the fact that their consumption does not give rise to rivalry. In this lecture, we conduct an experiment that shows that normally too little is invested in the provision of public goods. In practice, this problem can be seen, for example, in the investments that would be necessary to achieve climate protection targets. We explore the causes of this problem and discuss various possible solutions.
