Representation of family and gender in storybooks with same-sex parents

Abstract

Storybooks are objects with social relevant impact on the early childhood (Jürgens & Jäger, 2010). They are an integral part in the everyday life of a family and daycare.

This research project wants to close a gap and survey how "family" is portraited in german storybooks with same-sex parents and which sexual stereotypes are communicated.
