Information on Theses and Projects
Our group supervises bachelor's and master's theses as well as 15-ECTS projects. Suggestions for topics beyond those advertised are also welcome. The scope and focus are agreed upon based on the student’s interests and prior knowledge.
This page covers topic selection, recommended preparation, and the administrative steps for a thesis. It also includes information about the colloquium. Available topics are listed on the Theses and Projects page.
Topic Selection and Contact
The contact person listed in each topic description can answer questions about the topic and supervision. Helpful details for an initial inquiry include the degree program, the type of work (bachelor's thesis, master's thesis, or 15-ECTS project), and the planned start date.
Students can also propose their own topics. Our research topics, publications, and team members' profiles provide an overview of the group's research interests.
Recommended Background
Depending on the topic, we recommend taking Introduction to Robotics (MII-ROB-B), Human-Robot Interaction (MII-HRI-M), or both, along with a seminar or project seminar offered by our group.
Each topic description specifies the prior knowledge that is required or helpful.
Registration and Submission
The thesis topic and supervision arrangements are agreed upon with the group before registration. The Examinations Office explains the next steps on its Final Thesis Registration Information page.
The applicable examination and study regulations for the degree program set out the formal requirements.
Colloquium
The colloquium includes initial, progress, and final presentations on theses and projects supervised by our group. Interested students are welcome to attend, even before starting their own thesis or project.
Dates are announced separately. Our team members can provide information about attending.
