Stepping-Stone or Dead-End? Long-Term Consequences of Non-Standard Employment in Western and East Asian Labor Markets
Non-standard employment (NSE), such as fixed-term, part-time, and agency work, has become increasingly common across advanced economies. Yet whether it serves as a bridge into stable careers or traps workers in a state of persistent disadvantage remains contested in the existing literature. Drawing on multiple international panel datasets, this cumulative dissertation examines the long-term labor market consequences of NSE from a comparative perspective.
