BOSNET
Cross-Agency Approach to Dealing with Disinformation

What is it about?
Digital disinformation undermines the ability of public safety authorities and organizations (BOS) to act, as limited resources and insufficient information sharing make it difficult to detect and combat disinformation. The BOSNET project is therefore developing an AI system that detects disinformation on social media and supports BOS in coordinating and communicating their response to disinformation.

Explainable AI for Learning About Digital Disinformation

What is it about?
Disinformation and deepfakes threaten the democratic common good and trust in government institutions. The EKILED project, therefore, begins in schools and uses interactive XAI approaches to strengthen young people’s media and digital literacy in dealing with digital disinformation.
CYLENCE
Development of media strategies and tools to combat cyberbullying and hate messages in investigative and law enforcement agencies

What is it about?
Cyberbullying and hate speech are steadily on the rise on social media, yet so far there has been no comprehensive solution integrated into everyday applications. The CYLENCE project is developing strategies and tools to raise awareness and promote prevention, report incidents, and record and analyze cyberbullying to enable early identification and prioritization. In addition, the project aims to provide a precise picture of the situation for investigative and law enforcement agencies.

Understanding Social Media Users' Perceptions of AI-Generated Misinformation

The ARTIMIS project investigated the effects of misinformation on social media users. The goal was to identify different types of generative AI-based misinformation, understand how users perceive it, and increase their resilience and ability to counter it.
PREVENT
Training Approach for Convey Measures to Prevent Digital Disinformation Campaigns

The PREVENT project examined how security agencies can better address disinformation. The goal was to develop preventive measures evaluated for acceptance and in terms of ethical and legal criteria.
INNO4S
Digital Innovation for Sustainable Development

Partner: Westfälische Wilhelms Universität Münster (Prof. Brandt) and University of Cologne (Prof. Mensmann).
The INNO4S project developed a digital teaching and learning program that integrated sustainability, digitalization, and innovation into business courses. Case studies were used to demonstrate how digital technologies can help address global challenges. The content was provided in various formats and through curricula tailored to specific target groups.

Analysing Social Media Use during Natural Hazards: Improving Crisis Communication

The Natural Hazard project focused on the efficient, targeted dissemination of information via social media to the general public during hazardous situations. The project specifically addressed climate change-related events that pose a threat and require targeted information processing.
