// HOW TO GET TO BAMBERG

___ By Plane

The nearest airport is Nuremberg Airport (NUE), from which Bamberg can be reached by train in approx. one and a half hours (around 12 EUR). Most international passengers arrive at Munich Airport (MUC) or Frankfurt International Airport (FRA). Bamberg can be reached from both airports by train within approx. three hours. Regular one-way tickets are between 50 EUR and 70 EUR. If you book the train ticket early enough, you might get a cheaper ticket for around 20 EUR to 30 EUR. Please be aware that although it is named after the city Frankfurt, the airport Frankfurt-Hahn (HHN) is quite remote from the city of Frankfurt and would require an additional 5-hour-trip by bus and train from there to Bamberg.

___ By Train

Bamberg can be reached by high speed trains (ICE) from many German cities, as it is located on the high-speed railway line Munich – Nuremberg – Leipzig – Berlin/Hamburg. For detailed information on national and international train connections to Bamberg, please consult the website of the German Railways.

___ By Car

Bamberg is located in northern Bavaria and is connected to the motorways A70 from Schweinfurt (connecting to the A7) to Bayreuth (connecting to the A9) and to the A73 from Nuremberg (connecting to the A3) to Suhl (connecting to the A71). Parking near to the conference location is very limited. Therefore, you can use the Park-and-Ride-car park Kronacher Straße. After leaving the Autobahn (A70: exit 16 “Bamberg”, A73: exit 22: Memmelsdorf) follow the signs with P+R on it. You can park there and catch the bus no. 931 (Direction Bamberg ZOB) and exit at the bus stop Universität / Feldkirchenstraße. Alternatively, you can also enjoy a walk from the P+R to the conference venue (distance: 1 km).
