International Teaching and Research

For scientists and teachers from Bamberg who are planning a stay abroad there are various possibilities. On the one hand, our partner universities are often looking for guest lecturers for summer or winter schools as well as for regular teaching. If you are interested, please contact Dr. Kaufmann. He will be happy to inform you about corresponding requests.

On the other hand, many of our Erasmus partner universities offer the possibility to visit them as guest lecturers. These stays are supported by Erasmus funds from the University of Bamberg. You can fin information on the requirements for funding on the website of the EU and on the website of the International Office. At the International Office you will also find information on the availability of funds and with which universities there is exchange. For an initial consultation, you can also contact Dr. Kaufmann.

Visits of visiting scholars or guest lecturers at the faculty are usually based on established relationships with the Welcome Center at the International Office. In this case, it is advisable to contact the Welcome Center of the International Office directly. The staff there will be happy to inform you about funding opportunities and the formal requirements for a stay at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Economics, and Business Administration (SoWi) and will support you in organizing your stay and the necessary infrastructure (access, accommodation in Bamberg, etc.).

Of course, we are also happy to welcome visits from visiting scholars or guest lecturers without previous contact at the faculty. In that case, you can first contact the International Coordinator of the department, who will assist you in finding a suitable host. In a second step, you will of course receive the full support of the Welcome Center!
