Studies
The subject of history studies is the examination of specific questions relating to history from antiquity to the present day, based on the findings of modern research and independent work on historical sources. This involves examining parameters such as politics, society, economics, culture, ideas, and mentalities, which enable students to interpret the traces and repercussions of historical events in their immediate and wider environment and to place processes and facts in their overall historical context.
At the University of Bamberg, history can be studied in various combinations as part of a bachelor's degree, as part of a master's degree, or as a subject in teacher training. After successful completion, it is also possible to pursue a doctorate in history. In addition, history courses are also open to guest students and students from other disciplines.
