Master's program in Bamberg

Applications for the dual degree program are only accepted for the winter semester. The application process is integrated into the application procedure for the respective master’s program in Bamberg. You must therefore first decide which program you wish to pursue a dual degree in and begin the application process for that program.

Currently, the following master’s programs in business administration offer dual degrees:

  • M.Sc. Betriebswirtschaftslehre
  • M.Sc. Finance & Accounting
  • M.Sc. Strategy & Sustainability

Particularly within the Business Administration program, various specializations and combinations are available. Details can be found on the pages of the respective dual degree programs. These pages, as well as all available combinations, can be found here:

>>>Dual degrees in Business Administration

You may apply for one or more dual-degree programs. Within each program, you may apply for one or more dual degrees. If you wish to apply for multiple dual-degree programs, a single statement of purpose is sufficient. You may tailor this to your first-choice program or generally to your interest in pursuing a dual degree.

The dual degree application is integrated into the online application for the respective degree programs during the application period. Please note the shorter application deadlines for dual degree programs: Applications for the 2026/27 winter semester will be accepted starting in mid-May when the online portal for master’s applications opens. The application deadline is:

21.06.2026

Unfortunately, we cannot accept applications from students who are already enrolled in a master’s program.

For the dual degree application, the following documents/proofs must be submitted in addition to the materials required for the master’s application:

  • A statement of purpose in English or German;
  • Proof of language proficiency (usually English; detailed information can be found on the websites of the individual dual degree programs)

At the time of application for the dual master’s program, we accept school or university transcripts as proof of language proficiency in addition to officially recognized language certificates. As a general rule, a total of five years of instruction is recognized as proof of B2 level proficiency in the relevant language. You can find the online application process here:

You must submit or provide an official and current language proficiency certificate by the time you register at the partner university, which takes place during the first semester, approximately by the end of November. In many cases, you can provide proof of language proficiency free of charge at the University of Bamberg’s Language Center at the beginning of the first semester. After that, only officially recognized certificates will be accepted. You can find these on the International Office’s website:

Application Process

We will review your application as soon as we receive it and contact you if any documents are missing. Approximately two weeks after the application deadline, we will invite suitable candidates to a brief interview via Microsoft Teams. You will receive feedback on your application by the end of July.

You will receive either an acceptance or rejection regarding your spot in the dual degree program, and if you applied to multiple programs, you will be informed which partner university has accepted you, if applicable. Final admission to the host institution takes place during the first semester in Bamberg through the host university; however, this is purely a formality, and no new selection process will take place.

If you are not eligible for the dual degree but meet the admission criteria for the master’s program, you will be admitted to the program but will not be granted a spot in the dual degree program.
