Robotics and AI at the Hallstadt roundtable

At the Cleantech Innovation Park, Markus Rickert discussed applications for robots in business and assessed recent developments.

On October 8, 2026, the Cleantech Cluster organized its first AI and Robotics Roundtable at the Cleantech Innovation Park in Hallstadt. Professionals from industry and research were invited to discuss business applications of AI and robotics. Prof. Dr. Markus Rickert gave a talk titled “Robotik und KI: Aktuelle Entwicklungen und Einsatzmöglichkeiten.”

Using examples from manufacturing and skilled trades, Prof. Rickert explained how the effort required to deploy robots can vary, particularly when handling changing orders in small-batch production. He discussed the role of product and process knowledge and its integration into robot systems, and assessed recent developments in learning-based AI systems and humanoid robots.

Other talks added practical examples from different application areas. In the subsequent discussions and workshops, participants considered applications and challenges from their own businesses, along with opportunities for collaboration.
