Talk at the IJCAI–ECAI RobustifAI workshop
Prof. Dr. Markus Rickert was an invited speaker at the RobustifAI workshop at IJCAI–ECAI in Bremen on August 15, 2026. The workshop addressed the reliability and safety of generative AI, including requirements arising from its deployment and interaction with people.
His talk, “From Process Descriptions to Robot Behavior: Intuitive Instruction for Small-Lot Production,” examined the connection between understandable descriptions of manufacturing tasks and their execution by a robot system. Using applications from small-lot production, Prof. Rickert discussed which details people specify and which decisions the system can make using product, process, and environment knowledge. Alongside the design of the instruction process, he addressed the analysis of differences between a defined process and its actual execution.
