Robotics keynote at AI Summer School 2026

Markus Rickert was an invited keynote speaker at the Bavarian-Czech AI Summer School 2026 in Speinshart.

From September 7 to 11, 2026, students from Bavaria and the Czech Republic gathered at Speinshart Monastery for AI Summer School 2026, which focused on “AI and Industry.” The program combined lectures on industrial AI applications with practical assignments and a joint hackathon.

Prof. Dr. Markus Rickert was invited to give a keynote on September 10. His talk, “From Process Intent to Reliable Robot Behavior: Grounding and Task Structure in Industrial AI,” gave students a perspective on robotics within the broader context of intelligent industrial systems. He explained how human task descriptions can be connected to a robot’s available actions. The talk addressed the use of task and environment knowledge and compared knowledge-based methods with learning-based AI approaches.
