EKILED – Erklärbare KI zum Lernen über digitale Desinformation
In today’s digitally connected world, disinformation and deep fakes pose a serious threat to the democratic common good and trust in government institutions. The project EKILED (translates to: “Explainable AI for Learning about Digital Disinformation”), aims to promote education about digital disinformation as early as in school and to strengthen young people’s media and digital literacy. This is intended to help sustainably anchor social resilience and trust in democracy.
As part of the EKILED collaborative project, the UBA is researching interactive XAI approaches that reveal and present the implicit knowledge of AI models for detecting disinformation in a way that is educationally valuable for users. Specifically, the EKILED demonstrator is to be developed to serve as a reflection partner for students (the primary target group) in recognizing digital disinformation through interactive XAI approaches.
The University of Ulm is coordinating the consortium. The project is funded by the BMFTR.
