Dr. Maria Constantinou

Maria will prepare an annotated translation of ACO III, i.e. of the Synods of Constantinople and Jerusalem.

This position was publicly advertised, and nearly 40 applications were submitted by candidates from eleven different nations, many of them possessing substantial prior experience with patristics and/or late antique texts and history.

It was Maria who submitted the best translation, mastering expressions specific to late antique Greek and not shying away from all the taxing research necessary to understand the context.

Given her resourcefulness and rigor, there can be no doubt that her translation of ACO III will match the quality of her remarkable thesis on Demeter in Hellenistic poetry whose publication is highly anticipated.
