PhD Position for project PoWPoW
The Chair for Fundamentals of Natural Language Processing at the University of Bamberg is advertising a three-year PhD position as part of the DFG-funded project Relating Probabilities of Words to Probabilities of Worlds (PoWPoW) within the Priority Programme LaSTing. The project investigates how large language models represent and reason about probabilistic world knowledge, including methods for eliciting probability judgments from LLMs, evaluating their alignment with empirical probabilities, and comparing their probabilistic reasoning with that of humans. The position is ideal for candidates with a strong background in NLP, deep learning, and probability theory.
