Sometimes you need a quiet place to take a brief break from the daily routine of university life, recharge your batteries or concentrate. Quiet rooms offer you the chance to step away from the hustle and bustle for a moment and find some peace and quiet in a sheltered atmosphere.

Below you will find information on the quiet rooms available at the University of Bamberg, as well as details on how to use them.

 

 


A cosy spot on Markusplatz: the ÖHG Café ‘Wohnzimmer’

The café run by the Ecumenical University Community (ÖHG) is an open meeting place for everyone. Here, you can relax, strike up a conversation or recharge your batteries.

Everyone is welcome – regardless of religion, beliefs or personal background. In a pleasant atmosphere, you can take a break, unwind or simply escape the daily grind of studying and university life for a moment. The student-run café offers a quiet, welcoming and supportive environment for this.

Any spare room can become your own little retreat!

Provided a room in the university buildings is not booked for lectures, seminars or other events, you are welcome to use it as a place to study or relax.

Please ensure that you leave the room clean and vacate it in good time for the next booking.

 


Here’s how to find available rooms or room occupancy overviews in UnivIS:  

  1. Open UnivIShttps://univis.uni-bamberg.de/
  2. Select the ‘Räume’ category in the search box at the top
  3. Please enter the room name now (you’ll find this on a sign outside each room or on the building plans)
  4. Now click on ‘Belegungsplan’ under ‘Extras´

    You can now check the calendar view (make sure you check the date):

    • No entries = room available → please feel free to use it until it is next booked
    • Entry = Event / Booking → unfortunately cannot be used

Outlook

The University of Bamberg is currently working with various departments and projects to further expand the range of quiet study areas and relaxation rooms available to students at different locations. The aim is to create accessible and needs-based facilities that help to reduce stress and promote well-being in students’ day-to-day academic lives.
