Publication
Once you have successfully completed the oral examination, the next step is to look for a opportunity of publishing. There are three different options (§ 15 (2) PromO). Please note the publication deadline of two, but no later than four years. First, both reviewers must confirm that they consider the PhD thesis in its present form to be ready for publication or that the requirements have been fulfilled ((64.5 KB)publishing approval(52.6 KB))(64.5 KB). As soon as the two printing approvals have arrived, the chairperson of the PhD committee will issue the permission to print, and only then may printing take place. Please note that with the publishing approvals, the reviewers also give their consent to the title under which your dissertation will be published.
As a guideline for your publishing process the office for doctoral studies provides a convenience translation of the Regulations for the Award of Doctoral Degrees of the Faculty of Human Sciences and the Faculty of Humanities and Cultural Studies(139.8 KB, 2 pages).
