Lebenslauf

Davide Turini is a doctoral researcher at the Chair of Information Systems (Prof. Dr. Benedikt Morschheuser) at the University of Bamberg. He works in the DFG Collaborative Research Centre 1755 CASCAID, where he designs and studies games for science communication. He holds an MSc in Games (Design track) from the IT University of Copenhagen and a BSc in Communication Design from Politecnico di Milano. His background is in game systems design, so he focusses more on mechanics, progression and in-game economies. For his master's thesis he built “Donkeyskin”, a tower defense game whose economy makes players pay for protection with environmental damage, and used playtests to study how optimisation-minded players read systemic incentives. Before joining the chair he worked on several game productions, among them Tracebound (Game Director, final DADIU production) and Duster Buster (Game Design Lead, released on Steam).
