New Paper Alert🤩
Professor Milad Mirbabaie, together with Marie Langer and Lara Rodermund, presented a brand-new study at the upcoming ECIS 2025 Conference (📍Amman, Jordan, June 12–18!✨)
👉 ecis2025.eu
Their paper explores how Information and Communication Technology (ICT) influences the organizational identity of both born virtual and non-born virtual organizations—a highly relevant topic in today's digital-first world. 💻🤝
Through qualitative research, the team identifies three organizational types:
1️⃣ Traditional organizations, where identity is shaped mainly through face-to-face interactions, with little ICT influence.
2️⃣ Digitalized organizations, where ICT complements existing identity structures.
3️⃣ Born virtual organizations, where ICT plays a central role—yet even here, personal meetings remain crucial.
These insights shed light on how organizations adapt their identities in increasingly virtual environments.
💬 What’s your take—can digital tools truly replace in-person culture when it comes to identity, or is human connection still irreplaceable?
