Registration information for Sociology students who wish to take Work and Organizational Psychology as an elective in the Bachelor's or Master's program in Sociology

Prerequisites for taking courses in Work and Organizational Psychology:

The number of places for elective courses in Sociology (Bachelor and Master) is limited to 8 places. Of these, 6 places are reserved for Bachelor students and 2 places for Master's students. Therefore, an application for participation in the courses must be submitted.

The following two steps are necessary:

1. Application for admission to the subject Work and Organizational Psychology

Once you have emailed the Registrar's Office with the required information during the application period, the application is considered submitted.

Application periods:

  • For the summer semester 2024: 16.10.2023 - 27.10.2023
  • For the winter semester 2024/2025: 15.04.2024 - 26.04.2024

Due to the limited number of places for the electives in Sociology, a decision will be made by lottery after the deadline whether you can participate or not.

You will be informed by us about the result of the selection process.

Please send this information to sekretariat.auopsych@uni-bamberg.de within the registration period. Registrations outside the registration period will not be considered.

2. Registration for the lectures

There is no separate registration for the lectures necessary. The prerequisite for participation is the approved application for admission to the subject Work and Organizational Psychology in the elective area (see step 1).

Seminar registration is done exclusively with the help of the registration platform below (see link). There you can note your preferences regarding seminar participation. Please note the registration deadlines. For the summer semester 2024, registration will take place from 18.03.2024 until 31.03.2024 (23:45). The registration platform is not available outside this deadline. Therefore, no registrations will be accepted outside this period.

Requirements for the successful completion of the module

In order to successfully complete the module, Bachelor as well as Master Sociology students have to attend a Bachelor compulsory seminar in addition to the Bachelor lecture "Work Psychology" (in WS) and the Bachelor lecture "Organizational Psychology" (in SS). It is recommended to attend the seminar "Trends der Arbeits- und Organisationspsychologie" accompanying the lecture "Work and Organizational Psychology".

At the end of the module, a written module final examination is taken.

Bachelor students of Sociology have the additional option to attend the lecture "Introduction to Psychology" (6 ECTS), which always takes place in the winter semester and concludes with a written examination.
