Campus Human-centered AI Bamberg - MeKI

Human-centered Artificial Intelligence - AI in partnership for Digital Humanities, Education and Health

Artificial intelligence and machine learning have been a central aspect of teaching and research at the faculty since 2004. The focus is on the development of comprehensible, interactive, transparent and robust intelligent technologies that aim to support humans with AI and not to replace humans with AI. With method-oriented basic research, AI research at the faculty enjoys a great international reputation.

Thematically, Bamberg cooperates closely with the Center for Artificial Intelligence in Data Science Würzburg  CAIDAS.

Since 2018, the Applied Computer Science Master's program has offered a study focus in AI.

With nine professorships focusing on the fundamentals and applications of AI in research, teaching and transfer, Bamberg is one of the largest and most prominent AI locations in Germany. The topics dealt with are closely interlinked with the humanities, cultural studies and social sciences and place people at the centre of research.
