M.Sc. Information Systems
Programme Abstract
The objective of the degree programme is critically to evaluate scientific methods and their relevance to problem solving, to advance these respective methods, and to make a contribution to problem solving at an interdisciplinary level. The curriculum is focused on providing students with skills pertaining to managerial and corporate information systems in the realms of economics and administration, and also on conveying knowledge of information systems for the private sector. It is also possible to individualize studies by choosing a specific core area of focus. In addition to developing competence in the fields of Information Systems, Economics and Computer Science, the programme fosters skills in relevant neighbouring and auxiliary disciplines.

Accreditation and system accreditation
The system accreditation of the University of Bamberg has been successfully completed in June 2019, when the ACQUIN Accreditation Commission determined that all requirements have been met. Since then, the University of Bamberg has been responsible for the quality management of the study programmes.
The master’s degree programme in Information Systems was last accredited in 2013. For the students, this means that the study programme with its structures and contents fulfils the required quality criteria of the Accreditation Council. Currently, all study programmes of the Faculty WIAI are in the process of (re-)accreditation.
