Prof. Dr. Daniel Beimborn

Full Professor

Daniel Beimborn is the Chair of Information Systems Management and the Dean of Students of the Faculty of Information Systems and Applied Computer Sciences. Between 2014 and 2018, he was Professor of Information Systems at the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management, where he still serves as Visiting Professor.

Prof. Beimborn graduated and received his doctorate at the Goethe University in Frankfurt, before he worked as a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Bamberg from 2007 to 2013. He was a visiting researcher at Microsoft in Redmond (2004), at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge (2006 and 2007), at Georgia State University in Atlanta (2010-2011) and at the MIT (2018).

His current research activities include the management of outsourcing and nearshoring relationships, organizational success factors of digital innovation & transformation, IT governance and business/IT alignment, standardization of business processes, BPO and shared services in the financial industry. He has published various articles in highly reputed IS journals (MIS Quarterly, Journal of Management Information Systems, Journal of IT, etc.) and he is senior editor of DATA BASE for Advances in Information Systems and associate editor of the Journal Business & Information Systems Engineering.

Prof. Beimborn teaches various modules in the context of information systems, IT management, outsourcing, and digital business in the Bachelor and Master programs of the WIAI faculty. He has introduced the B.Sc. International Information Systems Management (IISM) at University of Bamberg and the Digital Business concentration in the Master in Management at Frankfurt School. He is lecturer of trust at the Bavarian Elite Academy.
