Tobias Fleming, B.Sc.

Tobias Fleming is a research associate at the Chair of Information Systems and Platform Economy since October 2026. Previously, he studied Business Informatics at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (B.Sc.) and at the Otto-Friedrich-University of Bamberg (M.Sc., Digital Transformation). During this time, he developed an application that converts podcasts into videos as part of his bachelor's thesis and gained experience in augmented reality, web development, and data analysis in further university projects.
Alongside his studies, he also gained practical experience, for example in IT vendor management in the CIO Office at Deloitte, in strategy consulting at Capgemini Invent, in machine learning and management consulting at Accenture, and in process automation at Roland Berger.
In his master's thesis, he used a corporate acquisition in the IT sector to examine how decision relevance emerges from digital data artifacts through interpretation and collective sensemaking among the actors involved. Methodologically, he combined the analysis of process documents, participant observation, and interviews with key actors from the acquiring company in a qualitative process study.
He also holds 13 certifications in agile methods such as Scrum, Kanban, Nexus, and SAFe, as well as in OKR and design thinking. In recognition of his performance at Deloitte, he was admitted to the company's Talent Community.
