M.Sc. – Wirtschaftsinformatik

Nina Hotter is pursuing her doctorate externally at the Chair of Information Systems, Health and Society in the Digital Age, and works as an IT in-house consultant at Primagaz GmbH in Kirchbichl, Austria.

She completed both her Bachelor's degree in Management and Economics (BSc) and her Master's degree in Information Systems (MSc) at Leopold-Franzens University in Innsbruck. Alongside her studies, Nina worked in Controlling at EGLO Leuchten GmbH from August 2019 to December 2021. From December 2021 to June 2022, she worked as a student assistant at the Institute of Information Systems, Production Management, and Logistics at Leopold-Franzens University in Innsbruck. From July 2022 to December 2023, she was a research assistant for the DFG project „Wann Mitarbeiter der IT eine zweite Chance geben: Theoretische Grundlagen, empirische Evidenz und Handlungsempfehlungen, warum Mitarbeiter die Unternehmens-IT nach erheblichen Unterbrechungen (nicht) wieder nutzen“ (471224160), situated under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Christian Maier.

Nina's research focuses on the use of digital technologies in both private (e.g. social media) and professional (e.g. Microsoft Office) contexts. In particular, she investigates why individuals start using a particular digital technology again after they have already stopped using it. In the course of her research, she has already been recognized as Best Reviewer in both the General Track of ICIS 2023 and DIGIT 2022. For her master's thesis in the field of eye-tracking and machine learning, Nina received the 2023 Award for Digitization Research from the University of Innsbruck.
