ServiceCard request form

All employees in main and secondary employment relationships will receive information about requesting their ServiceCard included in their hiring documents. In case you did not receive this information, please use the online form.

Doctoral students must use this online form. In this case, an informal email is not sufficient.

Each new employee receives a ServiceCard free of charge.


Topping-up your card

In order to use above-mentioned services, you must top-up your card at a cash or EC top-up machine. These are available at the following locations and can be accessed during opening hours:

Cash top-up machines:

  • Entrance area Mensa Austraße
  • Entrance area Mensa Feldkirchenstraße

EC top-up machines:

  • Entrance area Mensa Austraße
  • Entrance area Mensa Feldkirchenstraße
  • near TB2 (Teilbibliothek 2; branch library 2) near the main stairs at Markusplatz 3
  • Entrance area of TB3 (Teilbibliothek 3; branch library 3) at Feldkirchenstraße 21
  • Entrance area of TB4 (Teilbibliothek 4; branch library 4) at Heumarkt 2
  • An der Weberei 5 (ERBA campus), in the entrance hall, next to the elevator

Please note: Topping-up is free of charge. The current maximum card balance is 70 euros. The University of Bamberg it not liable for money stored on your card. The University cannot transfer any balancs, e.g. when a card is lost or replaced due to technical defects; this is the sole responsibility of the Studierendenwerk Würzburg.


auto-LOAD: Simple and secure!

With auto-LOAD, you top-up your card automatically at the tills in university dining halls or cafeterias if the amount of money on your card has fallen below a certain minimum. Defining a minimum and the amount to bel loaded onto your card is up to you (within certain limits). All information about this is available on the website if Studierendenwerk Würzburg.


End of employment and remaining balance

Please visit the dining halls at Austraße or Feldkirchenstraße (including cafeterias) to have remaining balnaces paid out in cash before the end of your employment relationship. Alternatively, you can send your card and a brief explanation and your bank account details via internal university post to the Information Systems Division (Z/IS - ServiceCard Team) or contact us by email to arrange to come by our office. In this case, remaining balances are refunded by bank transfer (fee: 0.50 €). Please keep in mind that it may take up to two weeks to process your refund.


Defective or damaged cards

If your card is defective or damaged, please send the card and a brief explanation via internal university post to Z/IS - ServiceCard Team or contact us by email. We will check the damaged card:

We will charge a service fee of 15 € for cards that must be replaced due to gross negligence.
No service fee is charged for cards that must be replaced due to technical malfunctions.


Error message "Fehler 218"

When using your card, the error message “Fehler 218 Eingaberichtung” appears on the terminal screen.

This means that your card is defective/damaged and must be replaced. To determine whether the malfunction is technical, please send your card and a brief explanation via internal university post to Z/IS - ServiceCard Team or contact us by email to arrange to come by our office.


Error message "Fehler 448"

If the error message “Fehler 448 Löschkarte” is displayed when using your card, this means that a transaction between your card and a terminal (e.g. photocopier, EC top-up machine, cah top-up machine, etc.) was not completed correctly. This can happen if your card was removed from the card slot too soon. Your card will be blocked and all payment functions will no longer be available.

To unblock your card, you must reinsert it into the last terminal at which it was still working. First, insert your card into any photocopying terminal. The terminal will now display an error message in the form of a sequence of numbers. This number shows you where the terminal you need to go to is located. A list of terminal numbers is available here(254.5 KB) (german only). Reinsterting your chip card into this terminal should unblock the card.

If your card is still blocked after doing this, or if the terminal was removed (is inactive), please contact the Studierendenwerk Würzburg for help. You can also unblock your card at the tills of University of Bamberg's dining halls und cafeterias.


ServiceCard functions

The ServiceCard functions are:

  • personal chip card for all staff members in main and secondary employment relationships (except student assistants),
  • university library card,
  • electronic purse (for payments made in dining halls, cafeterias and at vending machines, for private copying print jobs),
  • medium for recording official copying, printing and scan jobs,
  • ERBA library and branch library 4 admission ID,
  • key for cloakroom lockers at branch libraries 2, 3, 4 and 5,
  • time tracking medium for non-academic staff using BayZeit.

Name changes and remaining balance

You can request a new ServiceCard via online form after your data has been updated in the personal department's administrative system.

ServiceCard as library card

You can also use your ServiceCard as a university library card. Before using your card for the first time, you must register at one of the branch libraries' information desks (please bring your ID card for identification).


Validation

Your card's validity period depends on the duration of your employment relationship and will be extended for a maximum of one year upon each revalidation.

Insert your card into the validation printer's card slot. The validation process begins automatically. After completion, please remove your card.

Validation stations are located at:

  • Markusplatz 3 inforn of TB2 (Teilbibliothek 2, branch library 2) near the main stairs
  • Heumarkt 2, TB4 (Teilbibliothek 4, branch library 4) entrance area on the right
  • Feldkirchenstraße 21, TB3 (Teilbibliothek 3, branch library 3) entrance area
  • An der Weberei 5 (ERBA campus), entrance hall, next to the elevator

Lost cards

Card losses must be reported by email at once. To prevent mususe, your card will be blocked and can no longer be used - including as a library card. You can submit a request for a new card together with your card loss report.

Unfortunately, we cannot reimburse any remaining cash balance for lost cards.

In case you recover your lost card, we can only unblock it if you did not request a replacement.


Campusprint central printing and scanning services

You can use your ServiceCard for work-related as well as private copy, print or scan jobs at any of University of Bamberg's photocopy machines.

Prior to initiating print jobs, you must log in to the campusprint server. To do so, please select the “campusprinter mit Anmeldung” on your PC. If the “campusprinter mit Anmeldung” printer does not exist on your computer, please install campusprinter-setup.exe(119.8 MB). You can retrieve your copies from one of the campusprint-enabled photocopy machines (german only).

Scanned documents are saved on the campusprint server. You can download your scanned documents to any PC with an internet connection by logging in to campusprint.uni-bamberg.de with your access data.

Please note: The use of campusprint outside the universitx data network is only possible via VPN connection!

Cards must be topped up with a minimum amount of 0.80 € for private copies and printjobs.

Your organisational unit will be charged for all work-related copies and print jobs done with campusprint. To get an overview of the numberand type of copies or print jobs charged to your organisational unit's cost centre, please visit the ZUVPortal via the following link:

You can also use campusprint for private jobs and pay with your electronic purse. To do so, please select the appropriate funtion at the chip card terminal. The respective amount will be deducted from your electronic purse. Employees can also use the ZUVPortal to get an overview of charged transactions and transaction types, similar to a bank statement. You will find this funtion in the ZUVPortal under:
