Travelling to Bamberg

There are various possibilities of how to get to Bamberg:

- The next airport is Nuremberg (Nürnberg). Take the underground (U2) to Nuremberg main station. There you can take the train to Bamberg (about 40 minutes).

- For international guests, the airport in Frankfurt am Main or in Munich might offer better condtions. Frankfurt has an ICE train to Würzburg. There you have to change to Bamberg.

- If you fly to Munich airport, you have to take the suburban train (S-Bahn) to the main station and then take the train to Bamberg (about 2:30 hours). Train connections from Frankfurt and Munich are both faster and cheaper than connecting flights to Nuremberg. The train schedule can be found here: www.bahn.de or www.bahn.de/i/view/GBR/en/index.shtml (English version).

From Bamberg main station, all hotels are within walking distance. You can also take a bus from the main station (Bahnhof) to the ZOB and then walk to the university www.verkehrsbetriebe.de/cms/OePNV/Fahrplanauskunft/Fahrplanheft/Taschenfahrplan_2010.html .
