Jon Meyer, M.A.

Jon Meyer is a doctoral researcher at the Chair of Political Science, especially Digital Transformation. He studied philosophy, environmental sciences, and political science.

His research addresses the governance and political economy of digital transformation. Its focus lies on platformisation, digital sovereignty, and the interdependencies and strategic dependencies in digital infrastructures. In his cumulative dissertation, he examines how platform power and infrastructural dependence are governed politically in the European Union.

Since 2026 he has been a member of the Graduate Center for Doctoral Researchers at the Bavarian Research Institute for Digital Transformation (bidt).

He teaches courses on the governance of digital platforms, digital infrastructures, and digital sovereignty.
