Curriculum Vitae
Prof. Dr. Alexander Pflaum studied electrical engineering at Friedrich-Alexander University (FAU) Erlangen-Nuremberg and earned his doctorate in 2001 from the FAU Faculty of Economics on the topic “RFID and Supply Chain Management.”
He has been employed by the Fraunhofer Society since 1995 and, even while pursuing his doctoral studies, served as head of the “Communication Technology” group within the Fraunhofer Application Center for Transportation Logistics and Communication Technology (AVK). Starting in 2002, Prof. Dr. Alexander Pflaum headed the “Information and Communication Technologies and Supply Chain Management” department at the Fraunhofer Working Group for Technologies in the Logistics and Service Industry (ATL). Since 2008, Prof. Dr. Alexander Pflaum has headed the Center for Intelligent Objects (ZIO). Since 2016, he has been director of the Fraunhofer Working Group for Supply Chain Services (SCS).
In addition, he has held the Chair of Business Administration, specializing in supply chain management, at Otto Friedrich University of Bamberg since October 2011.
