Psychosocial Evaluation before Obesity Surgery

According to S3 Clinical Practice Guideline “Obesity Surgery and the Treatment of Metabolic Diseases” a psychosocial evaluation needs to be conducted before the surgery. In this evaluation psychosocial aspects and psychological disorders will be assessed. Following this evaluation a written statement will be composed. At our psychotherapeutic outpatient clinic we conduct psychosocial evaluations. Please contact our office during telephone consultation hours if you are interested. We will get in contact with you as soon as possible to inform you about the general conditions of conducting this evaluation with us.

Please note: We do not offer the “behavioral modification” that needs to be attended as a part of the conservative obesity treatment. Please refer to your attending obesity center for this part of your treatment.
