Thorsten Reppert is a doctoral student at the Professorship of Public Policy. His areas of interest are the welfare state, social and economic policy, and local politics. His research focuses on the privatization and re-municipalization of local electricity grids and municipal energy policy.
Working Title: Municipal Energy Supply between Public and Private Ownership - A Policy Analysis of Privatization and (Re)Municipalization of Network-bound Services in the Federal Republic of Germany
Since April 2022, he is a Starter Scholarship Holder and a Doctoral Member of the Bamberg Graduate School of Social Sciences (BAGSS).
He was awarded the Master of Arts in Political Science from the University of Bamberg in 2021. In 2018, he completed his bachelor's degree at the University of Würzburg, where he majored in Political and Social Studies and minored in Economics. During both phases of his studies, he was supported by the scholarship program of the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung.
