Thorsten Reppert is a research assistant and doctoral student at the Chair of Public Policy. His areas of interest are energy policy, social and economic policy, and local politics. His research focuses on the privatization and re-municipalization of local electricity grids and municipal energy policy.

Title: From Market to Municipality: Electricity Grid Remunicipalization and German Local Politics in the 2010s

He was awarded the Master of Arts in Political Science from the University of Bamberg in 2021. In 2018, he completed his bachelor's degree at the University of Würzburg, where he majored in Political and Social Studies and minored in Economics. 

From April 2023 to March 2025, he was supported by the doctoral program of the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung. FES had already supported him during his Bachelor's and Master's studies. From April 2022 to March 2023, he received the Starter Scholarship of the Bamberg Graduate School of Social Sciences (BAGSS).
