Registration and supervision of theses

In the following, we explain the procedure for registering theses at the Chair of Business Administration, in particular Management Accounting. At the beginning of the semester, we publish a list of topics for theses on our website. This is followed by an event at which the topics are presented by the chair team. Please refer to the table above for the dates of the events for Bachelor's and Master's topics. This event is aimed at all students who are interested in writing their thesis at the Chair of Business Administration, in particular Management Accounting. Students can then apply for a thesis. Please use our online form for this purpose. You will then receive prompt feedback as to whether your thesis can be supervised at the Chair. Students should then contact their supervisor within one week.

Please note:
If the number of interested students exceeds the capacity limit, the progress of the major will determine whether the thesis is accepted.

Prerequisites

Bachelor's students should have successfully completed at least two controlling courses. We recommend that Master's students have attended at least two courses in the field of controlling.

Registration, duration and completion of the thesis

We plan a 4-week induction period for students before the theses are registered. The processing time is 2 months for Bachelor's theses and 4 months for Master's theses. In the course of the semester, the theses are presented in a presentation. The dates for the presentation of the theses can be found in the schedule.

Supervision during the thesis

After the start of the processing period, we recommend arranging one meeting per month with your supervisor. At these meetings, you will discuss the current status as well as questions and problems in connection with your thesis. If you have any further questions, please contact your supervisor.
