Four-Day Field Trip to "Ötztal & Ötztaler Alps"
The field trip to the Ötztal, led by geographer Christian Luplow, from 17–20 September 2026, combined physical-geographical issues relating to the high-altitude Alpine valley with human-geographical perspectives. In addition to topics such as the settlement of the Alpine region, alpine farming and tourism, the focus was on physical-geographical aspects such as the geology of the Central Alps, geomorphological processes shaping the high mountains (including glacial morphology, gravitational mass movements and periglacial landforms), climate change in the Alpine region and natural hazards.
